On 29 December 2017, SP Jain Global’s Singapore campus signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Maharashtra Mandal Singapore (MMS). MMS is a non-profit social organisation made up of both local and foreign Maharashtrian Indian diaspora.

On 16 December 2018, SP Jain’s Alumni Community came together in Dubai to celebrate the prestigious Forbes Rankings. With numerous performances and joyful reunions, the event was truly spectacular. The BBA students attended an inspirational talk by Jessica Cox, the world’s first armless pilot, at the MES Theatre at Mediacorp on 27th January 2018. The 34-year-old, who was born with a rare non-genetic birth defect, has never let her disability hold her back.

The Postgraduate students at SP Jain’s Sydney campus recently had the opportunity to interact with Harish Palagummi, a highly successful tech entrepreneur who has set new standards for innovation. With around two decades of industry experience, Harish has been a seasoned advisor and strategist, wherein he has played key roles in large-scale organisational programs, developing early stage strategies that redesigned and disrupted various industry segments. Harish's new venture, Element 8, is an Australian firm, backed by $250 million.

Practical learning stimulates academic training and broadens the perspective of students extensively. Every day is a hands-on research, which is of fundamental importance within the luxury domain. In order to build upon such experiences, the Luxury Management students were made part of a study tour to Paris – the city of the leading flagship stores, museums and astounding boutiques of the luxury hub. They embarked on their journey into deep diving within luxury in its finest disposition.

On 26th September 2017, SP Jain’s Mumbai Campus organised a cultural evening for the BBA Cohort, celebrating Navratri. Navaratri is a Hindu festival celebrated for nine nights and ten days in the autumn of very year. The festival is celebrated in the bright half of the Hindu calendar month Ashvin, which typically falls in the Gregorian months of September and October.

SP Jain’s BBA Students recently undertook a cliff top coastal walk in Sydney as a part of their Global Learning Experience. The Bondi to Coogee walk extends for six km in Sydney’s eastern suburbs, featuring stunning views, beaches, parks, cliffs, bays, and rock pools.

Twenty students from SP Jain’s BBA cohort represented SP Jain to join Metropolitan YMCA (MYMCA) as Peace Envoys in promoting World Peace on Wednesday, 20^th September. MYMCA is committed to nurturing children and developing youth by engaging them in meaningful causes and activities, which was showcased in the event. ‘Embassies of the World’, as the event was called, is an initiative by Metropolitan YMCA in collaboration with United Nations Global Compact Network Singapore (UN GCNS).

On 19 September 2017, SP Jain’s PG students specialising in IT Management and Global Logistics & Supply Chain Management got the unique opportunity to interact with Hubert Igbinoba, the Director of Change Freight Forwarding. Having completed a Mathematics and Industrial Mechanics Degree in Nigeria, Hubert emigrated to Australia, bringing with him this strong entrepreneurial spirit. Hubert then went on to a 5-year sting as the General Manager of a Talent Company post his further studies in Business Management.

On 19 September 2017, SP Jain’s Sydney Campus hosted Anuraj Gambhir for a talk on 'Technology Disrupting Finance'. Anuraj has work experience in various areas from hands-on technical roles to senior executive management positions and is regarded by many as an industry visionary. On 16 September 2017, SP Jain’s Sydney Campus hosted Chris Hall (Speaker, Gallup Strengths Strategist, Owner - Be What You Want), who conducted a Gallup Strengths Seminar for the students. Chris Hall is a strategist who is passionate about uncovering the futures that inspire individuals, and works with people to bring aliveness and alignment in their work lives. The seminar gave SP Jain students the unique opportunity to gain the competencies to identify individual strengths.

On the 8th of September, 2017, SP Jain took the BBA 2017 cohort to SMAASH as a part of a team building activity.  The day was scheduled for only fun and no studies, taking a break from the rigorous day-to-day schedule and getting to know each other. This year, the Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) program of SP Jain School of Global Management welcomed around 185 new Jaguars from 27 different nationalities including China, South Korea, India, Mauritius, Mexico, Russia, Southeast Asia, and Europe, among others.

While it is their first time in Singapore for many, a large number of students are also experiencing their first time living away from home. The Jaguars of 2017 have come together for their journey with SP Jain, learning and living in three different megacities of the world—Singapore, Dubai, and Sydney— immersing themselves in various environments, cultures and situations, becoming independent global business leaders. The new Jaguars will not just interact with people of different backgrounds, but also experience these new backgrounds first-hand.

When we talk about creativity in branding and marketing, we tend to think about hip, young, and mostly fast-moving consumer products. Our minds do not really move towards the real estate industry. On the contrary, even if its market can be exciting and lucrative, real estate is often seen as something more conservative and boring.

As our Master of Global Students (MGB) students found out recently, nothing can be further from the truth.

On 14 July 2017, a group of students from SP Jain’s Singapore Campus visited the Singapore office of PropertyGuru Group (PropertyGuru) at their Somerset Triple One office. Voted by consumers as “Asia’s Most Influential Brand for Online Property Search” in 2016, PropertyGuru Group helps millions of people every month find their homes.

Did you know that the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) is the world’s fastest Stock Exchange? The BSE takes around 500,000 orders a second at 6 micro-seconds’ response. Home to a whopping 5800 listed companies on its exchange, the BSE is Asia’s first stock exchange listed in 1875. On July 9, 2017, it celebrated 142 years of its existence. The BSE is also the first Exchange in the country and second in the world to receive Information Security Management System Standard BS 7799-2-2002 certification for its Online Trading System (BOLT).

During the last week of March 2017, Dr Bhanu Ranjan, Assistant Professor of Communications at SP Jain, organised a 90-seconds elevator pitch in a car for the Global MBA students at the Singapore Campus. Dr Ranjan had invited four individuals from the industry who had to pitch or assess pitches for their day-to-day work, to join in as assessors for the pitches.

Known as the festival of colours or the festival of love, Holi is a Hindu festival widely celebrated not only in India and by the Indian Diaspora, but also by Russians and the French. Traditionally celebrated after burning a wooden structure representing the demoness Holika, the festival celebrates the victory of good over evil. The colours are said to represent the bursts of joys.

Lavasa is a private, planned city being built near Pune. It is stylistically based on the Italian town Portofino, with a street and several buildings bearing the name of that town. S P Jain School of Global Management’s Mumbai campus began the second semester for its BBA JAGS 2017 with their first outbound Industrial Visit to the same place. On the 3^rd of February, 2017, Lavasa became a part of the various activities S P Jain introduces to its students every semester.

On 19th January 2017, 25 students of SP Jain’s undergraduate batch visited the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees’ Dubai Main Office in the MENA region. UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, is a global organisation dedicated to saving lives, protecting rights, and building a better future for refugees, forcibly displaced communities, and stateless people.
