On 29 December 2017, SP Jain Global’s Singapore campus signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Maharashtra Mandal Singapore (MMS). MMS is a non-profit social organisation made up of both local and foreign Maharashtrian Indian diaspora.

BBA Jags represent SP Jain as Peace Envoys with Metropolitan YMCA, Singapore

Twenty students from SP Jain’s BBA cohort represented SP Jain to join Metropolitan YMCA (MYMCA) as Peace Envoys in promoting World Peace on Wednesday, 20th September. MYMCA is committed to nurturing children and developing youth by engaging them in meaningful causes and activities, which was showcased in the event. ‘Embassies of the World’, as the event was called, is an initiative by Metropolitan YMCA in collaboration with United Nations Global Compact Network Singapore (UN GCNS).

Revolutionising the Global Logistics Industry – PG Students interact with Hubert Igbinoba

On 19 September 2017, SP Jain’s PG students specialising in IT Management and Global Logistics & Supply Chain Management got the unique opportunity to interact with Hubert Igbinoba, the Director of Change Freight Forwarding. Having completed a Mathematics and Industrial Mechanics Degree in Nigeria, Hubert emigrated to Australia, bringing with him this strong entrepreneurial spirit. Hubert then went on to a 5-year sting as the General Manager of a Talent Company post his further studies in Business Management.

SP Jain Singapore Campus Welcomes the New Jags of 2017 – The Global Journey Begins

This year, the Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) program of SP Jain School of Global Management welcomed around 185 new Jaguars from 27 different nationalities including China, South Korea, India, Mauritius, Mexico, Russia, Southeast Asia, and Europe, among others.

While it is their first time in Singapore for many, a large number of students are also experiencing their first time living away from home. The Jaguars of 2017 have come together for their journey with SP Jain, learning and living in three different megacities of the world—Singapore, Dubai, and Sydney— immersing themselves in various environments, cultures and situations, becoming independent global business leaders. The new Jaguars will not just interact with people of different backgrounds, but also experience these new backgrounds first-hand.

On 14 July 2017, a group of students from SP Jain’s Singapore Campus visited the Singapore office of PropertyGuru Group (PropertyGuru) at their Somerset Triple One office. Voted by consumers as “Asia’s Most Influential Brand for Online Property Search” in 2016, PropertyGuru Group helps millions of people every month find their homes.

BBA Jags Mumbai don Investor caps for a day at the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE)

Did you know that the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) is the world’s fastest Stock Exchange? The BSE takes around 500,000 orders a second at 6 micro-seconds’ response. Home to a whopping 5800 listed companies on its exchange, the BSE is Asia’s first stock exchange listed in 1875. On July 9, 2017, it celebrated 142 years of its existence. The BSE is also the first Exchange in the country and second in the world to receive Information Security Management System Standard BS 7799-2-2002 certification for its Online Trading System (BOLT).

Celebrating Holi, the Festival of Colours, at the Singapore Campus

Known as the festival of colours or the festival of love, Holi is a Hindu festival widely celebrated not only in India and by the Indian Diaspora, but also by Russians and the French. Traditionally celebrated after burning a wooden structure representing the demoness Holika, the festival celebrates the victory of good over evil. BBA Jaguars visit Lavasa for an Industrial Visit

Lavasa is a private, planned city being built near Pune. It is stylistically based on the Italian town Portofino, with a street and several buildings bearing the name of that town. Visit to UNHCR, Dubai by the SP Jain Undergraduate Students

On 19th January 2017, 25 students of SP Jain’s undergraduate batch visited the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees’ Dubai Main Office in the MENA region. UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, is a global organisation dedicated to saving lives, protecting rights, and building a better future for refugees, forcibly displaced communities, and stateless people.
