Career Acceleration and Adaption
The current dynamic business environment presents new opportunities to mid-career professionals to leverage their deep domain knowledge and functional expertise. To complement their current skills and overcome career stagnation, experienced professionals need to develop strategic business and management perspective demanded by the modern workplace. How does one face and thrive in this challenge? Say hello to the ‘T’ shaped manager – one who breaks out of the role of an individual contributor and helps the organisation grow as a whole.
With a carefully crafted balance of flexibility and rigour, SP Jain's Executive MBA (EMBA) is designed to help busy working professionals, like you, seize challenging opportunities, discover their unique style of leadership, develop a decision-making track record and position themselves as a change-maker. Our 18-month part-time EMBA will help you gain the strategic and cross-functional appreciation of management while further building the core functional and technical competencies.
After much extensive research which included gathering data from corporates and alumni, we believe we have developed a truly world-class program which is at the leading edge of applied practice and theory. Some of the many new courses include Leadership and Cross-Cultural Management, and Corporate Governance and Ethics. New electives such as New Ventures, and Mergers and Acquisitions are being offered. Furthermore, a new specialisation is being offered in Entrepreneurship. In addition, ECAP (Executive Career Acceleration Program) has been integrated into the core curriculum, emphasising the strategic importance of all students enhancing their soft skills in order to become effective managers and leaders.
The SP Jain EMBA introduced me to peers from different backgrounds, nationalities and industries, and created a learning environment that broadened my perspective a lot. We studied using a blend of lectures, group projects, simulations, and real-life case studies, helping me translate the education back into the business with more confidence. The curriculum also covered the basics of finance, marketing, and operations, helping managers like me expand our skillsets and build a strategic approach to leadership.
I had already received excellent reviews about SP Jain’s EMBA before I relocated to Singapore from London, and this global recognition is one of the first things that encouraged me to pursue the program. The 18-month MBA has a uniquely international approach covering western and Asian case studies and is designed specially to prepare executives for the challenges of the rapidly growing global markets.
The EMBA program has benefitted me immensely by helping me build on my academic and technical knowledge as well as soft skills that are a must at any workplace. I gained skills in people management, personal effectiveness, negotiation and leadership. I am also better able to contribute strategically to my team and handle issues at work more effectively than I could before. If you have been working for many years and you feel that your career has been stagnant, the EMBA program is a good way to kick-start and give your career that much-needed boost.
My role demanded me to enhance my knowledge in finance and, being from a non-finance background, SP Jain’s curriculum was ideal as it covered foundational as well as advanced topics in the Finance elective. I learnt many skills which are helping me in my day-to-day work and personal life. Getting to experience a student’s life after so many years was great. Our classmates and professors were very friendly. Their diverse experiences enabled us to have constructive discussions in class which were relevant and practical.
The past 18 months have been full of amazing experiences. As a Biomedical Sciences graduate, I got exposed to a completely new field outside of sciences and public health. The faculty shared, inspired and provided valuable insights with their years of industry experience. Even the peers we studied with consisted of a diverse group of professionals from different industries and this allowed a wide array of creative thought processes and ideas. I have gained a lot of insights from them, which boosted my confidence and helped me better connect with people, be it at work or outside of work.
Before joining SP Jain, I was in a highly specialised Brand Management role and was looking forward to diversifying my skills. The SP Jain Executive MBA helped me do exactly that, and more! In just 18 months, the program helped me fill my knowledge gaps in diverse areas like Finance, Human Resources, and Operations Management. It also gave me the confidence to start my own business and build a portfolio career.
