The term ‘business’ can be found everywhere in the sport. It’s on the jersey, in the stadium, in the heads of the players, managers, and especially the owners. Each week, millions of dollars are transacted across clubs, fans and ticket offices, and sponsors. If there is a potential for money making, someone will have taken it.

Soccer – it’s all about business

Organised by the Global Learning Team, the S P Jain Football Competition is the continuation of the 1st edition of this tournament with the inclusion of an auction process in order to make it a sound business simulation. The auction mimics the bidding of players to play in the various teams.

This 17 June, Friday, a group of Global MBA students were invited for a company visit to EMC. They were fortunate to have two senior members of the company guide the tour.

The ground floor of J Cube Shopping Mall located in west Singapore, came to a halt. A curious crowd gradually gathered soon after hear some music being played. Shortly after the music began to play, a girl was seen making a graceful entry to the centre of the formation and began matching pace to the beats of the music. Soon after, a young man joined in the dance, and a group of young, enthusiastic individuals followed.

Nitish Jain (President, SP Jain Global) was recently invited by the Honourable Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, to join his official CEO delegation to Australia.  Mr. Jain was a member of a high-powered group that included Anand Mahindra (Mahindra Group), Shashi Ruia (Essar Group), Gautam Adani (Adani Group), BP Rao (BHEL), Vishal Sikka (Infosys), Arundhati Bhattacharya (State Bank of India), and several other top Indian business leaders.
