How can companies build a robust talent pipeline amid today’s challenging times for a resilient future? Prof Christopher Abraham (Head of Dubai Campus, SP Jain School of Global Management) was invited to share his views at the ETHRWorld Future Skills Virtual Conference held on July 24, 2020.

He was joined by distinguished panellists including:

  • Vasanthi Srinivasan (Professor, Organisational Behaviour and Human Resource Management, IIM Bangalore)
  • Wayne Brockbank (Clinical Professor of Business, Ross School of Business, University of Michigan)
  • Chris Dede (Timothy E. Wirth Professor, Learning Technologies, Harvard University)
  • Thirumala Arohi (VP & Head of Education, Training and Assessment (ETA) unit, Infosys)

The panel was moderated by Raman Kumar (Chief Human Resources Officer for ABB India, a part of ABB Group). Talking about the multiple changes the industry is going through, the expert panel deliberated upon how the old leadership model is going to be a passé as the future workplace will be more focused on building a culture of collaboration and capabilities.

Prof Abraham said, “There needs to be a huge mind shift to move from individual leadership competency development to a collective mindset where we look at the power of community, power of groups.”

The Economic Times, one of the most widely-read financial news publications, has featured Prof Abraham’s insights in an article covering the highlights of the panel discussion. You can read the article here.

The virtual conference was organised by ET HRWorld.com, a leading digital platform for human resources, to help organisations prepare for an upcoming highly digitised world. The event featured HR and business leaders, policymakers and prominent personalities to discuss challenges and solutions in learning. Based on the theme of ‘Reinvent, Rebuild and Realign’, the first edition of the virtual conference, held in partnership with Adobe, Infosys, Coursera, Skillsoft, TCS iON, EdCast and Simplilearn, witnessed over 2,000 participants and more than 30 eminent speakers.
