EMBA Toastmasters Club Singapore – 54th chapter meeting highlights

 

On 29th July 2025, the SP Jain Global EMBA Toastmasters Club Singapore hosted its 54th chapter meeting in a hybrid format at the Singapore Campus and online. With the theme “Ignite Your Spark,” the meeting encouraged participants to explore new ideas and perspectives.

On 29th July 2025, the SP Jain Global EMBA Toastmasters Club Singapore hosted its 54th chapter meeting in a hybrid format at the Singapore Campus and online. With the theme “Ignite Your Spark,” the meeting encouraged participants to explore new ideas and perspectives.

The evening began with a lively networking segment that set a welcoming tone for the meeting. Serving as Toastmaster of the Day, Albina Amalraj (EMBA SG B26) guided the agenda with confidence and clarity.

The success of the session was supported by the contributions of:

  • Jeazel Dsouza (GEMBA B18 Alumni), as Ah Counter, tracked filler words and supported participants in refining fluency.
  • Sounak Chatterjee (GEMBA B15 Alumni) managed the Table Topics segment, encouraging impromptu responses with engaging topics.
  • Distinguished Toastmaster Richard (Awesome Toastmasters Club), in his role as Language Evaluator, introduced the Word of the Day “entrance” and explained its dual application.
  • James Clifton (Awesome Toastmasters Club) completed the evaluation segment, offering constructive insights as General Evaluator.

Speeches
The prepared speeches segment featured four thought-provoking presentations:

  • Indumathi Sivanesan (EMBA SG B24 Alumni)When You Believe in Yourself
  • Parvathy Subramaniam (EMBA SG B25)Kindness
  • Nayana Shyju (BBA Student)When Sparks Lead the Way

Each speech was evaluated by experienced Toastmasters: Farhan Samsuddin (Awesome TMC), Affee Abregana (The Fillcomm Cairnhill TMC), Isaac Lew (Gek Poh Ville TMC), and Jeazel Dsouza (GEMBA B17 Alumni), who provided balanced feedback, recognising strengths and suggesting areas for improvement.

Awards
The meeting concluded with recognition of outstanding contributions:

  • Best speaker: Nayana Shyju (BBA student)
  • Best table topics speaker: Tabbasum Ashraf (GEMBA B28)
  • Best evaluator: Area Director, Affee Mae (The Fillcomm Cairnhill TMC)

Staying true to its theme, the meeting encouraged participants to recognise and share their individual spark. Members and guests are invited to attend the next meeting on Tuesday, 26th August 2025 from 6:30 PM – 9:00 PM, at the SP Jain Singapore Campus and online.
