Students got the opportunity to interact with The Sustainable City’s Director of Innovation, Mr. Karim El-Jisr, who spoke about the project conception, planning phases, execution and closure phases along with the innovation and unique positioning of the 46-hectare property in Dubai. Students also toured the property situated on the Al Qudra road and learnt about the initiatives taken to attain its position as the first net zero energy development in Dubai.

Focused on nurturing a sustainable lifestyle among its residents, The Sustainable City offers a holistic, wellness-inspired environment that is free from toxins, noise pollution and cars. The development includes 500 villas, 89 apartments and a mixed-use area consisting of offices, retail, healthcare facilities, a nursery and food and beverage outlets. Phase 2 of the development will include a hotel, school and innovation centre.
