SP Jain School of Global Management hosted the Corporate Partner Meet 2019 – an exclusive platform to introduce the concept of the Global Immersion Project (GIP), or the Action Learning Project (ALP), to our corporate stakeholders – on September 19, 2019, at Dusit Thani, Dubai.
The event was a platform for corporates, faculty and, most importantly, our students to network and collaborate with industry leaders, who shared valuable insights on ‘creating successful business leaders for tomorrow’. Corporate partners represented diverse industries with whom our Global MBA (GMBA) and Master of Global Business (MGB) students are currently working with on their Term 3 industry projects. The event witnessed a full house and saw experts from various fields including marketing, logistics, finance and technology.
Dr Shital Vakhariya, Senior Manager – Industry Interface Projects, SP Jain, was the event convener and Gordana Rudovic, Academic Manager – Marketing, SP Jain, was the emcee of the event. The session started with a Welcome Address by Farah Naaz, Academic Manager – Finance, SP Jain, followed by the Dean’s Address by Dr Balakrishna Grandhi, Dean – Global MBA & MGB and Professor – Marketing & Strategy, SP Jain.
The highlight of the event was showcasing the industry projects of our GMBA students which were undertaken in Sydney for the first time. Four student teams presented a remarkable range of projects, one each in the areas of marketing, consulting, information technology, and global logistics & supply chain. These teams explored various strategic challenges and opportunities for the associated companies while addressing live business issues as per the “business challenges” defined by the organisation. The corporates got the opportunity to experience first-hand the rigour, professionalism and value-addition SP Jain students can offer in their industry projects.
Dr Dhrupad Mathur, Deputy Director – Faculty Management and Associate Professor – IT Management, SP Jain, introduced the projects and welcomed the students with the winning projects to give their presentations. The winning project presentations were:
