RTA Innovation Lab 2019: SP Jain’s Dr Anna Tarabasz and team develop winning concept

Dr Anna Tarabasz (Assistant Professor – Marketing and Deputy Director – MGB Internships, SP Jain) and her team’s proposal, iShare, was adjudged the winning concept at Innovation Lab 2019 hosted by Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in Dubai on November 17, 2019.

The idea of iShare is an autonomous detachable pod with a mobile-based application that synchronises with travellers’ transportation needs and enables to solve transportation challenges within the city and replace existing models of public transport.

Dr Tarabasz’s team included:

  • Umang Suri (Chief Specialist, RTA)
  • Bob Sorensen (VP Strategy, Innovation Ecosystems and Partnerships, Captum Advisors)
  • Nathan Juglard (Strategy & Business Development, Thales)
  • Ruba Abdelal (Project Manager, RTA)
More than 50 attendees from business and academia participated in the workshop

The event was organised to brainstorm and capture ideas on the future of transport infrastructure in Dubai. More than 50 attendees from business and academia participated in the workshop and developed innovative and unique proposals to help solve the challenges faced by RTA. The innovation labs at RTA serve as a melting pot for ideas and perspectives from senior leaders at RTA, innovation teams and external guests from government entities, corporate and academia.

RTA authorities also extended a warm invitation for future business and scientific collaborations between SP Jain and RTA and offered Dr Tarabasz an opportunity to visit RTA’s Enterprise Command & Control Centre (EC3).
