MAIB Program

Learning Outcomes


On successful completion of MAIB, students will graduate with a postgraduate degree and the skills, knowledge and their application that validate the following learning outcomes:

1. Knowledge of Artificial Intelligence and Business Management Have an advanced, integrated, and coherent disciplinary and interdisciplinary knowledge of artificial intelligence technologies, business management and research principles and methods for the application of AI to business.
2. Critical Thinking, Design Thinking and Decision-Making Skills Develop problem solving, design and decision-making skills to identify and provide innovative solutions to complex business problems through application of AI technologies and techniques.
3. Communication and Team Performance Skills

Work and communicate effectively as a member or leader of a diverse team to provide superior business solutions using advanced tools and practices of artificial intelligence and business management.

MAIB will provide a unique combination of training in AI technologies, management principles, and practical applications of AI in business. The following are some important AI applications that students will learn about in detail and they will be ready to join industry teams working in these active application areas:

  • Computational advertising campaigns on digital media are deployed and managed using automated AI tools. This requires development teams to formulate business goals for the campaign and translate them into AI models. MAIB Marketing Track students will take a deep dive into this subject in the fifth term.
  • Recommender systems are used to suggest products to customers based on past purchasing patterns using machine learning and deep learning. They are widely used by e-commerce companies such as Amazon, Flipkart, Netflix, etc. MAIB Marketing Track students will learn this subject in detail in the fifth term.
  • Smart logistics systems apply AI and Operations techniques to optimise logistics performance and costs especially in the manufacturing and retail sectors. MAIB Logistics Track students will make a detailed study of this application in the fifth term.
  • Churn management is a machine learning technology used in many sectors including telecommunication, banking, retail, etc. to improve customer service and limit customer defection. This subject will be taught in detail as one of the major business applications studied in the second year.
  • AI-based financial portfolio management is a new discipline that has gained substantial attention from investment management professionals in recent years. This subject will be taught as part of the deep dive into the financial applications of AI during the second year.
  • Fraud detection using Machine Learning is used widely by banks, credit card companies, retailers, and others. This application will be taught as part of the second year unit on financial AI.
  • Students will be able to study other applications in detail as well in their Applied Business Project in the fourth term and their Capstone Project in the final term.
