The Impact of AI on Business and Higher Education Models

Written by Dr Abhijit Dasgupta (Director – BDS) | Apr 20, 2026 9:00:00 AM

Business education is under pressure like never before. Artificial Intelligence is changing jobs, and global careers are moving fast. The question now is direct; are business schools keeping up?

In a recent interview with Education Post, Nitish Jain, Founder and President of the SP Jain Group, discussed how this shift is pushing institutions to rethink both what they teach and how learning is delivered.

At the centre of this approach is SP Jain Global’s multi-city learning model. Students move across campuses in Dubai, Singapore, Sydney, and Mumbai, gaining first hand exposure to different business environments and learning to adapt to new cultures and ways of working.

On the digital side, the School’s Engaged Learning Online (ELO) platform focuses on live, interactive classes across countries, rather than recorded content.

“The best professor in the room teaches everyone, regardless of geography,” Mr Jain said, explaining the idea behind ELO.

Artificial intelligence (AI) is also changing how learning is structured. Mr Jain sees AI handling routine practice, allowing faculty to focus on helping students navigate uncertainty and strengthen decision making.

He also noted that success today is not defined by rankings or placements alone. It is better seen in what graduates go on to do; starting companies, stepping into leadership roles, and continuing to grow and adapt long after they leave campus.
